1 out of 5 stars No photos - returned the book   December 20, 2008
    Photo Buff (Parkland, PA USA)
This book sounded like the only book I'd need to train my dog to do tricks...but what a disappointment it was...there are no photos and you need to see what the instructions are all about without trying to visualize yourself. I returned the book and ordered a much, much better book with lots of great, colorful photos on every page. I recommend wholeheartedly "101 Dog Tricks, Step by Step Activities to Engage, Challenge, and Bond with Your Dog." This book is truly the ONLY book you'll ever need.

5 out of 5 stars Great book!   December 12, 2008

I purchased this book right after bringing my Morkie puppy home in June. It had a lot of great trick ideas and the tips work very well. My little guy is always a star! He can sit, stay, give paw and high five, roll over-like its his JOB :~P, dance and put on quite the show thanks to the help from this book and a little work.

5 out of 5 stars Learning tricks already.   November 21, 2008

i've started teaching my dog the touch trick in hopes to get him to ring a doorbell to go outside. i know there's a ring a bell trick in this book and i'm sure that will work well if the doorbell doesn't. there's a few tricks in here i'd be surprised if someone taught their dog. like "get me a cookie" or "get me a water'.

An American publication, but as a dog trainer, canine psychologist and someone who practices and loves heelwork to music, this really has to be the best and realistically priced book on the subject I have seen. Also amazingly quick delivery, faster than books from the UK to Ireland...Well done, Christine

5 out of 5 stars Lives up to its title   October 27, 2008

Great little book crammed with content. I was worried it would be "thin" after Look Inside, but find that it not only provides good methods with details for "tricks", but also soundly covers core methods for training, including important concepts like "proofing" a behavior in various situations and back chaining for complex behaviors.

The tricks range from learning good basic skills (sit/down/come) through some very complex sequences like pushing a baby carriage and retrieval of a drink from the fridge. There are even tricks to do with family members, human or canine.

A solid appendix rounds out the book, with other books, websites, and organizations.

Hard to beat at any price!
